NITF is an XML standard designed to structure independent news articles.

News ML-G2, also an IPTC standard, is for the structuring of multimedia news packages.

Developed by News Publishers, for News Publishers NITF uses the e Xtensible Markup Language to define the content and structure of news articles.

Because metadata is applied throughout the news content, NITF documents are far more searchable and useful than HTML pages.

By using NITF, publishers can adapt the look, feel, and interactivity of their documents to the bandwidth, devices, and personalized needs of their subscribers.

These documents can be translated into HTML, WML (for wireless devices), RTF (for printing), or any other format the publisher wishes. It is a standard that is open, public, proven, well-used, well-documented, and well-supported.

The NITF Users Forum is used to share experiences, raise questions and recommend and discuss changes to the NITF standard.

It also connects companies and organizations who use NITF and vendors who create tools that process NITF documents. Please note that author is special in that HTML 5 provides a special mechanism for indicating authorship via the rel tag. That is equivalent to this and may be used interchangeably. The service provider, service operator, or service performer; the goods producer. The spatial Coverage of a Creative Work indicates the place(s) which are the focus of the content.Another party (a seller) may offer those services or goods on behalf of the provider. It is a subproperty of content Location intended primarily for more technical and detailed materials. For example with a Dataset, it indicates areas that the dataset describes: a dataset of New York weather would have spatial Coverage which was the place: the state of New York. An additional type for the item, typically used for adding more specific types from external vocabularies in microdata syntax.
